PIAZZA TURISTICA –, 2016-2024 (del proyecto Città Eterna ¬ Città Souvenir)
La Instalación PIAZZA TURISTICA es una de las piezas resusltantes de una investigación artística contextualizada en Roma que aborda el impacto social, las consecuencias urbanísticas y la repercusión medioambiental que tienen sobre el territorio el actual modelo de ciudad y la presión ejercida por el turismo de masas y sus necesidades logísticas. Esta pieza aborda la masificación turística, así como algunas de sus actitudes y arquetipos contemporáneos.
Instalación compuesta por 8 dibujos colgantes realizados con lápiz de grafito, acuarela y collage fotográfico sobre papel "Fabriano" de 300 gr./m2. Medidas: 70 x 100 cm c/u. + marco. Medidas totales y configuración de montaje adaptables al espacio expositivo.

PIAZZA TURISTICA is a site-specific installation developed from an extended artistic investigation based in Rome. This work engages with the complex interplay between urban form, environmental strain, and the social dynamics shaped by mass tourism. It critically examines how the contemporary city is molded—physically and culturally—by the logistical demands of large-scale tourist flows.

The installation reflects on the consequences of a tourism-driven urban model: the transformation of public space, the homogenization of local identity, and the ecological pressures that accompany constant influx. Through a blend of observational insight and conceptual inquiry, PIAZZA TURISTICA draws attention to the behaviors, gestures, and archetypes of today’s global tourist—both as a cultural figure and as a symptom of wider systemic forces.

Framed within Rome’s historical and symbolic landscape, the work offers a timely meditation on the fragility of place under the weight of spectacle, mobility, and economic exploitation. PIAZZA TURISTICA invites viewers to consider how tourism not only shapes destinations, but reshapes the very idea of public space and its use in the 21st century.
